I've been trying to come up with something to do - find something I can enjoy doing when not at work (besides reading) and possibly make some extra money. A good friend (who is a college professor) suggested I teach online. So I submitted an application for an online adjunct faculty position at a community college. I probably won't even get an interview but I must say I am pleased that I actually applied. I had to update my resume, write the dreaded cover letter, get copies of all of my transcripts and come up with a teaching philosophy (something I've never thought about before). So I did all of that, asked several people if I could use them as references and hit submit! So, even if nothing comes of it, at least I followed through....maybe next time it will go a little further.
52
I turned 52 last week...the day after my birthday, I went to see The Killers in concert in Atlantic City. It was great. As I stood there singing at the top of my lungs along with everyone else - I felt a connection. Everyone in that room loves The Killers and knows all the lyrics - and I had that in common with them. I felt like I was part of something - I shared something with those people. I don't feel like that very often.
